Ariel Motor Company, announces that it will be building its new own 1100 HP hyper car!
Yes, the company is known for building super-lightweight track focused weapons now wants to enter the realm of the car gods that is the hypercars! with its newly announced Ariel P40. It will produce 1180 HP with 1327 lb ft of torque , and a 0-100 mph time of 3.8 secs! That's bonkers it's about a second quicker than a Porsche 918 and a McLaren P1!, weighing only 1500 kilos and achieving a top speed of 155 mph.
It is powered by 4 electric motors along with a range extender motor which is actually a turbine which runs at a really high rpm providing 35 kW to charge the battery. The battery pack is placed at the center rear of the car. P40 wil be Ariel's first 4WD car but a 2WD will also be available.The P40's body is made up of an aluminium monocoque chassis with carbon elements to reinforce it. P40 will be available by 2020.Ariel is working with Delta Motorsports and Equipmake to produce the P40.

BUT will it do what it claims ?
You never know, how light the car might be or how many brake horsepower it has doesn't matter unless you put that power down without wheelspin's killing the precious power and ace the corners without losing out on too much power, you can't set good lap times! However the P40 does look promising, but will it deliver ?... only time will tell.
