Do free patents buy Tesla the competitive advantage?

We all have been talking about Tesla and what it is as a company, the company is known to produce great electric cars and the founder Elon Musk is making tremendous efforts to make a revolution in transportation industry and has continued to surprise people by delivering on promises and also revolutionizing the electric industry.Tesla has released its patents publicly for other companies to use but most of the manufacturers aren’t using those patents and developing their own technology. One of the reason behind this is the loop holes in the contract. Actually there is no formal contract which says so, Elon Musk posted on his Tesla blog, “Tesla will not initiate patent lawsuits against anyone who, in good faith, wants to use our technology." Without defining the term “Good Faith”, there are no legal documents saying this and there are no terms and conditions regarding how Tesla defines “good faith”, that's why most companies and other small manufacturers aren’t using the

Is Maserati Dying?

Maserati has been a great sports car company making beautiful looking, great sounding GT cars, but it cannot do what it has been doing for too long now, because Ferrari after it acquired Maserati has not let the company function to its full capability. The last great car to roll out Maserati factory was the Ghibli . All they have been doing since then is changing the audio system and face-lifting the car. Ferrari owns Maserati but the parent company has never taken steps to provide them with the great F1 technology from Ferrari. Maserati Ghibli. Maserati Ghibli Interior. When it comes to the rise of great GT cars, Aston is takingthe lead and catching up with Ferrari and on the other hand Ferrari isn’t doing so well, the earlier California was actually a car developed by Maserati which was taken away by Ferrari because apparently “it was too good to be a Maserati”, this is what I meant when I said that Ferrari wouldn’t let Maserati function at its full capability an

Official Performance Divisions of Automakers.

We are living in the era of supercars and hypercars. Almost every automaker is jumping into this segment with the challenge to make a new world speed record and producing insane hypercars, which possess loud and bigger engines, sick looking aerodynamics, extremely light weight carbon fiber chassis, active aero and an insanely big price tag which most of us can't afford. The technology for these hypercars are specially developed, either by a specialized team of engineers, by doing collaboration with F1 teams, or passing on the company's F1 technology itself to the production cars. This also enhances competition among car makers  and also lets them push the boundaries of performance when it comes to regular production cars and a few supercars This makes a lot of sense as this allows the regular people to enjoy their cars as a daily and comfortable ride but also allows them to put their foot down and let the beast under the hood tell everyone , 'who's the boss...'

The Automakers who have lost their way.

Which auto-maker has lost its way ? I think I need to point out two companies here: Ferrari and BMW (Please don't bash me guys !!). Okay, Let's talk about BMW first. In this era of supercars and hypercars why do we not have a BMW hypercar coming out? With the steps BMW is talking it has lost its importance as the "ultimate driving machine". BMW does not give a damn about making the ultimate drivers car, all we have is a refreshed looking, longer sedan with the same interiors from the past 5 years? Its a German automaker for God's sake. I think BMW needs to move from past failures to new ventures. The i8 was a disaster of the industry, everyone expected that to be the silent supercar, "the evolution of electric supercars" but that doesn't perform , a supercar that doesn't perform isn't a supercar! Its a Ferrari(lol, have patience fans ...). Though the i8 looks epic, but.... :P And I am not here to bash BMW, its a great car company they do n
