Ford GT Over-hyped ?

Yes, one of the most anticipated cars of the year was the legendary Ford GT which made a huge comeback 50 yrs after defeating the Ferrari in the Le Mans.It took people by the awe when it was unveiled,that aero and with the most beautiful rebirth someone has ever given to a design. It bought out the petrolhead in me when I first read about the stats and the insane claims made by the company and I totally believed​ it.

Because it doesn't take much to believe right ? But it really does take much to deliver, to perform... And did it ? 

In some way it must have ... :P

The Ford GT powered by a 3.5 litre V6 engine producing 647HP and the GT claims to hit 0-60 mph in just 2.8 secs, but ford hasn't done justice to the car by not planning it out very well.
Making a great supercar is one thing , planning the launch, customer satisfaction, on-time delivery and performing as per claims is what makes it great. Unfortunately Ford couldn't do the latter.

What went wrong exactly ?

Everything.

• Its rolling out slowly from the production line.
• Ford was really careful about "what you could do with the car", "how could you test it" , " how you could talk about it" you know , just Ferrari things.. even though they defeated them even today and 50 years ago. Come on Ford you're better than that !...
• Ford claimed that the road version "will be the fastest American car ever" but its not, its not fast at all, not even close to your regular supercars. 
• What I feel is that if you are making a supercar with claims to defeat every other car, you should roll it out ASAP from your factories and let the numbers talk rather than putting restrictions on "what you should do" or "how should you test the cars" .
• As far as the rumors suggest its slow, a regular turbo S can beat it . People say that it's raw and a great driving experience ,but is that what you get for 500,000$ ? 
• I'd rather buy a Porsche 911R( well sticker price without any customisations).
• I'd compare it with the McLaren 720s, which properly specced costs 330,000$ , has 700+ HP delivered to the wheels and over performs(yes they we're lying about it ). Or even a GT2 RS

What is it exactly ?

The Ford GT is the genre that not every car maker has stepped into its a GT supercar , its 50% a track weapon capable of being crowned the king of Le Mans but rest 50% its a comfortable, great sounding driving experience. GT is, in some ways a bitter sweet balance among the track focused super car and a daily GT supercar.

The best of both worlds​ which it's gift and also it's curse!
