Do free patents buy Tesla the competitive advantage?

We all have been talking about Tesla and what it is as a company, the company is known to produce great electric cars and the founder Elon Musk is making tremendous efforts to make a revolution in transportation industry and has continued to surprise people by delivering on promises and also revolutionizing the electric industry.Tesla has released its patents publicly for other companies to use but most of the manufacturers aren’t using those patents and developing their own technology. One of the reason behind this is the loop holes in the contract. Actually there is no formal contract which says so, Elon Musk posted on his Tesla blog, “Tesla will not initiate patent lawsuits against anyone who, in good faith, wants to use our technology." Without defining the term “Good Faith”, there are no legal documents saying this and there are no terms and conditions regarding how Tesla defines “good faith”, that's why most companies and other small manufacturers aren’t using the

Is Maserati Dying?

Maserati has been a great sports car company making beautiful looking, great sounding GT cars, but it cannot do what it has been doing for too long now, because Ferrari after it acquired Maserati has not let the company function to its full capability. The last great car to roll out Maserati factory was the Ghibli . All they have been doing since then is changing the audio system and face-lifting the car. Ferrari owns Maserati but the parent company has never taken steps to provide them with the great F1 technology from Ferrari. Maserati Ghibli. Maserati Ghibli Interior. When it comes to the rise of great GT cars, Aston is takingthe lead and catching up with Ferrari and on the other hand Ferrari isn’t doing so well, the earlier California was actually a car developed by Maserati which was taken away by Ferrari because apparently “it was too good to be a Maserati”, this is what I meant when I said that Ferrari wouldn’t let Maserati function at its full capability an

Official Performance Divisions of Automakers.

We are living in the era of supercars and hypercars. Almost every automaker is jumping into this segment with the challenge to make a new world speed record and producing insane hypercars, which possess loud and bigger engines, sick looking aerodynamics, extremely light weight carbon fiber chassis, active aero and an insanely big price tag which most of us can't afford. The technology for these hypercars are specially developed, either by a specialized team of engineers, by doing collaboration with F1 teams, or passing on the company's F1 technology itself to the production cars. This also enhances competition among car makers  and also lets them push the boundaries of performance when it comes to regular production cars and a few supercars This makes a lot of sense as this allows the regular people to enjoy their cars as a daily and comfortable ride but also allows them to put their foot down and let the beast under the hood tell everyone , 'who's the boss...'

The Automakers who have lost their way.

Which auto-maker has lost its way ? I think I need to point out two companies here: Ferrari and BMW (Please don't bash me guys !!). Okay, Let's talk about BMW first. In this era of supercars and hypercars why do we not have a BMW hypercar coming out? With the steps BMW is talking it has lost its importance as the "ultimate driving machine". BMW does not give a damn about making the ultimate drivers car, all we have is a refreshed looking, longer sedan with the same interiors from the past 5 years? Its a German automaker for God's sake. I think BMW needs to move from past failures to new ventures. The i8 was a disaster of the industry, everyone expected that to be the silent supercar, "the evolution of electric supercars" but that doesn't perform , a supercar that doesn't perform isn't a supercar! Its a Ferrari(lol, have patience fans ...). Though the i8 looks epic, but.... :P And I am not here to bash BMW, its a great car company they do n

The Holy Trinity: New Era Hypercars

Holy trinity, the cars every car enthusiast knows of, they are the legendary Porsche 918, McLaren P1 and the Ferrari La-Ferrari. But to be correct they WERE the holy trinity, the new era of super cars that were released in the recent past like the McLaren 720s have destroyed these hyper cars by pulling insane numbers on the track, 720s defeated the 918 in a drag race and 911 GT2rs destroyed the lap record of 918 and La Ferrari on the Nurburgring. No question about the fact that 720s is faster than a P1(they are lying about the 720s' peak performance) And it is not possible to imagine how fast the new hyper cars are going to be, and with all this a few new hyper cars were announced this year, some of them are: APOLLO IE : This is a fairly new company that has been making super cars since 2004. Even though these guys were working on a small budget earlier, looks like now they have some backing. The new Apollo IE , took people by surprise when it was unveiled at the Dubai

Did Koenigsegg really beat Chiron?

Koenigsegg is a small Swedish hypercar manufacturer which makes the fastest cars on the planet in a straight line, but the problem with the ‘egg’ is that they break down under pressure and they are NOT the fastest cars around the track or the fastest overall. These cars are great on a straight line because of their sick aerodynamics and their bigger engines but they are not the fastest cars around the track due to the fact that they take a long time to come out of the corners and the lack of traction. Koenigsegg Agera R The Bugatti is a really comfortable, daily drivable hypercar that can be easily driven and somewhat tamed by a noob, the Chiron is a 4-wheel drive car that can on any day beat the Koenigsegg around the track because the latter is rear wheel drive and lacks traction, while the ‘bug’ is an all-wheel drive and to be clear I am not defending Bugatti and belittling Koenigsegg, the achievement is indeed commendable. Have a look at the stats: Bugatti Chiron

Aston martin, the Ferrari destroyer?

Ferrari has always been known as the gentleman’s car, it is a company that has been every car guys poster car as well a performer on tracks, having wonderful designs and being a great GT car, due to this it had a reputation of being a gentleman’s car until lately when the company has been under constant criticism by people in the car world due to its slow implementations of new policies and slow reaction to changes happening in the car world like coming out with a new SUV, or the Ferrari FUV as they call it, the decision of not going electric and other issues like imposing baseless conditions on customers to test or modify their own cars. Aston Martin Valkyrie Aston Martin meanwhile is acting smart by reacting to changes rapidly and moving ahead skilfully in the industry by changing their policies, going electric, making great gentleman’s car and pushing the bar higher and higher by making smart decisions time and again. They are competing with Ferrari by launching their o
