Will 911 GT3 touring pack affect the value of 911R ?

Recently at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Porsche revealed its new 911 GT3 Touring Pack, and the people, the media and almost everyone else went crazy about it majorly for two reasons, first one being that it is an affordable manual 911 from Porsche and the second one being,” It will lead to depreciation of the 911R” which is a purists car with a manual that costs about $5,00,000(price today) base price and had only 991 units made. But this is not the case, Porsche isn’t cheating its premium paying VIP customers and taking a sh*t on their face by dumping the car world by “a more affordable 911R”. Let me tell you what exactly are these cars. THE 911R : It’s the purest 911 ever made, it’s 3900 pounds being the lightest 911 ever, it comes with a 4 litre engine from GT3RS producing 500 horse power. This car is a project by Porsche to remind the world that making a great supercar is not only about setting lap times and a great 0-60 time but also about the driving experience, it de...

Jaguars Electrified Classic

What will happen to the classics if the world goes electric? Yes, the car world is slowly going electric, big car companies are slowly dropping their massive naturally aspirated engines, and trying to incorporate electric drive trains into their production cars. The governments in various countries are trying to set higher pollution standards and many countries as well as automotive manufacturers have decided to go “all electric” by 2020 and some by 2030. And as a car guy I hate electric cars, not ‘cause they are faster than normal cars but because I do love the sound of the growling V8s,10s,12s and 16s, and that will soon be replaced by the whining noise of an electric motor. Even though electric cars are way better than ICE’s (Internal Combustion Engines) when it comes to putting more power on the ground, increasing efficiency, achieving higher torque ratio’s and even beating the oil gulping beasts in the world’s greatest drag race . But change is necessary there is a who...

Why the Jaguar C-X75 was never made ?

Jaguar's C-X75 : The concept that never made it to production ! C-X75 the car started as a show-car to celebrate 75 years of Jaguar. In 2011 a handpicked team of engineers was assigned the task to develop a supercar with the speed of  a Veyron, range of a Volt, and carbon emissions of a Prius. The car was developed in collaboration with the F1 team Williams F1. The C-X75 had a combined power output of 850hp and 1000Nm of torque, produced from 1.6 litre dual boosted(supercharged and turbocharged) 4 cylinder engine which was capable of generating 502bhp at 10,000 rpm. Up to 5,500 rpm it is supercharged, after that turbo handles the sorcery, which keeps it going to a limit of 10,200 rpm. There are 2 electric motors one at the rear and one at the front each making 200hp and 300lb ft of torque. It came with a 7 speed automated manual transmission allowing gearshifts in under 200 milliseconds. Its very first prototype exceeded 200mph with ease during testing and had a theoretic...

Ford GT Over-hyped ?

2017 Ford GT Yes, one of the most anticipated cars of the year was the legendary Ford GT which made a huge comeback 50 yrs after defeating the Ferrari in the Le Mans .It took people by the awe when it was unveiled, that aero and with the most beautiful rebirth someone has ever given to a design. It bought out the petrolhead in me when I first read about the stats and the insane claims made by the company and I totally believed it. Because it doesn't take much to believe right ? But it really does take much to deliver, to perform... And did it ?  In some way it must have ... :P The Ford GT powered by a 3.5 litre V6 engine producing 647HP and the GT claims to hit 0-60 mph in just 2.8 secs, but ford hasn't done justice to the car by not planning it out very well. Making a great supercar is one thing , planning the launch, customer satisfaction, on-time delivery and performing as per claims is what makes it great. Unfortunately Ford couldn't do the latter. ...
